Welcome to Boynton Beach

Captain Slayhab receives a letter from Cory Weston -- a fisherman acquaintance from up the coast in Boynton Beach. Through the grapevine, Cory has heard of Slayhab's reputation as an investigator and also some rumor of the recent harborfront incident in neighboring Innsmouth. Weston's letter tells an oddly unbelievable tale of baffling lights and noises at the nearby Babson Mansion and asks if Slayhab would take a look.

Slayhab decides to drive up the coast from Boston with Mortimer Morbidius to pay Cory Weston a visit. As they turn east off the main road towards Falcon Point, the duo pick up a local hitchhiker named Robert Waite who, although drunk, seems friendly and communicative especially when assured that the investigators are not coming from Innsmouth. When queried, he tells what he knows about Ephraim Babson -- the "bad, secretive, and mean" man who lived in the Mansion for some 60 years. Old Man Babson apparently died some 20 years ago -- drowned while swimming in the ocean. But strangely: "We still see lights within the big house now and then. Sometimes we hear singing, or screams. Sometimes there is thunder from it. Surely that place is haunted."

Waite exits the car near Falcon Point and points them towards Boynton Beach where they quickly find Cory Weston, near the fishing boats. Weston confirms what they've heard about the Babson Mansion but adds that in addition to lights and noises, late at night he has seen a darkened boat run up to the mansion's slip. He is too scared to go near the house himself and asks Slayhab to investigate.

What will Slayhab and Morbidius do next???
